Jimmy began wholeheartedly enjoying the piano at age 8 (after 3 years of whining to his mother!). This enjoyment came from the discovery of improvisation, he is still proud of his first self-proclaimed major accomplishment: “Riding Motorcycles” (1999—still in need of a publisher). Since then, his love for music has continued to grow, and many of the transformative moments of his life have taken place alongside the catalyst of music.
After studying music composition and obtaining a Bachelor’s of Music in Education from the Wheaton College Conservatory in May 2013, Jimmy began teaching choirs, bands, music composition, and pre-school music at Heritage Christian Academy. In addition, due to the incomparable joy that he has personally experienced through making music at the piano, he strives to help students discover the beauty of creation through private lessons in piano, theory, aural skills, and improvisation. He considers it a deep joy to witness young ones unlock the freedom of expression that music provides!
